Defining Reiki can be a stifling exercise. Having a background in research, it is hard to put into words the healing practice of Reiki without sounding woo-woo. So I defer and share Reiki defined by the International Center for Reik Training. ‘Reiki is an energy healing treatment that works holistically; on the whole body, mind and spirit. Not a system of religious beliefs, Reiki is simply a relaxing treatment whereas natural healing vibrations are transmitted through the hands of a Reiki practitioner (acting as a conduit) to the body of the recipient. The purpose of a Reiki treatment is to relieve stress and pain, induce relaxation, release emotional blockages, accelerate natural healing, balance subtle bodies energies and support other medical modalities including traditional therapies.’ Simply put, Reiki turns on the parasympathetic nervous system, allowing the body to surrender to healing light energy, releasing bound energy that present as tension and eventually dis-ease. Reiki has been so effective that leading New York Medical Centers as NY Presbyterian Hospital and Beth Israel offer Reiki pre and post-operative, as a multi-approach treatment for cancer, depression, and PTSD.

Reiki has been part of my daily practice and teaching for nearly nine years. Reiki healed me and brought me to myself, that resonate guiding compass that resides within all of us. My purpose and my mission is to share the gift of Reiki till my last breath. Let me guide you to that special space, that sweet love that overwhelms us with joy, tears and gratitude.
